Three Kings Monument is a tribute to the city’s founders and a hub of cultural activity

History

The Three Kings Monument, located in the heart of Chiang Mai, is a tribute to the city’s founders: King Mengrai, King Ramkhamhaeng, and King Ngam Muang. These three monarchs played pivotal roles in the establishment and development of Chiang Mai in the late 13th century. King Mengrai, the founder of Chiang Mai, collaborated with his friends, King Ramkhamhaeng of Sukhothai and King Ngam Muang of Phayao, to plan and build the city. The monument, erected in 1984, symbolizes their unity and vision.
